THE STORY BEHIND HINTERLAND THE RECCE

I first met Collin back in the day when I first rode in India, 2006 if my memory is correct.
We did a lot of rides together and became good friends. We were both single at that time and I went to his place (Tamil Nadu) and met my future wife and he came to my place (Goa) and met his future wife. That was around 8 to 9 years ago. We met up again recently as we were doing what we love the most, guddling with motorcycles, Royal Enfields to be exact. 2006 felt like yesterday, it was a great feeling.
We have a recce ride coming up in late October called Hinterland that starts in West Bengal, drops in to Orissa, back round into the Sundarbans and finishes in Kolkata. It’s a recce ride and none of us have ridden there before, we know nothing about this vast area.
I needed to add to the team for this one and find someone rock steady that could ride in any conditions and that wouldn’t be fazed by the challenges that will surely face us.
One quick message to Collin, ‘are you in for this one’ and the rest is history.
We’ll be back riding together and I’m so looking forward to it. It feels like the excitement I first felt when riding in India in the early days.
