READY TO RIDE
CHAPTER TWENTY SIX
Welcome to chapter twenty six of our ‘Ready To Ride’ short stories series.
These are five quick snapshots of what we do, where we ride, the laughs had, and the general shenanigans and goings on, while riding together over the Himalayas & through South India.
I’m posting these every Friday, and they’re an easy read, a few minutes are all you need.
Enjoy!

“Just go ahead and do it…
I started doing these adventures nearly 10 years ago, and I just love it.
I’m addicted to it.
I’ve done 7 rides with Alex, and I’d recommend it to anyone.
Before I came on the Grand Canyon India ride, I thought it was going to be more of a holiday, but it certainly was an adventure.
There were hard days.
We went to some great places.
The highlight was definitely the comradeship, the social life after we finished the rides each day, the beautiful roads through the tiger reserves, and the jungle-type riding with the twisties.
I’d definitely book the secluded beach. I’m a little bit sorry we didn’t have one more day here – I could easily stay for another, it’s absolutely beautiful, great food, and fun.
I’m coming back in October to do Everest for the 2nd time, too” – Geoff.
Geoff gets it.
He hit the nail on the head, too. Comradeship, beautiful roads, hard days, great food, and fun – that’s what it’s all about. What more could you want from a motorcycle adventure? Sunshine and beaches, too?
The Grand Canyon India ride has those in spades.

The adventure of a lifetime demands a special motorcycle…
We work with the iconic brands such as Royal Enfield, Triumph, and KTM, but our standards don’t stop there.
We replace our fleet constantly, each motorcycle is fully serviced and ready to ride before every adventure.
We fit full adventure kits. Luggage racks, crash guards, soft panniers, tank bags, USB chargers, hand guards, tubeless rims, and so on as standard.
Our mechanics are also on hand 24/7 if you need something adjusted to suit.
It’s no problem.

Until next time…
2,350 kms later, and another Rode To Everest completed.
It’s been another awesome adventure, and we’re looking back at some of the photos taken by our riders – thanks for sharing.
Even though we’ve been on the same ride, it’s fascinating to see the journey through another rider’s eyes. Each perspective brings a new story or a unique detail that we might have missed.
That’s the beauty of looking through someone else’s lens – it’s a great reminder of how deeply personal each experience is and how differently we experience the world around us.
We’ll be back in September, but until then, it’s back to the Indian Himalayas for the Roof Of India.

Despite sounding quite barren…
You’d be surprised at how much grows on the Deccan Plateau.
As we ride west toward the Grand Canyon of India, we climb and cross this vast and bountiful land. Tomatoes, chillies, spices, rice, sunflowers, bananas, and more grow as far as the eye can see.
We wind through small farming villages where spices and chillies are laid out to dry, then out into the openness of the farmlands, where you spot farmers checking their crops and workers gathering produce.
You catch these moments in a split second, but as we travel over 300 km, a similar scene replays again and again – each time more intriguing – and you realise just how much is grown here, and just how vast this country truly is.
It’s an incredible experience, and you can’t help but wonder if what you’ve seen growing will end up on your plate.

It might sound clichéd….
But sometimes we really do need to get lost in order to find ourselves.
Not in the literal sense. Getting lost looks different for everyone; it could be hiking, music, adventure motorcycling. Something that takes us away from the day-to-day.
It’s only when we step away from routine that we start asking the questions that actually matter – the ones we often avoid or bury in the depths of our minds.
As difficult as they can be to answer, they’re the questions that often lead to change, action, and growth.
Riding through the Indian Himalayas, with nothing but the road, the roar of the engine, and the silence of the mountains, the noise in our heads fades. It gives us the space to disconnect and reflect.
We begin to think clearly.
Things start to make sense.
And in those quiet moments, far from the familiar, we begin to answer those questions and find ourselves.
That’s one of the joys of motorcycling.
Enjoy the ride.
I’ll see you on the next one.

So you’re considering taking on a real adventure? I remember the feeling. In 2006, I was sat right where you are now… wondering if it was for me.
Join our mailing list – The Knight Club – and I’ll send my no-BS thoughts on why you should (or shouldn’t) take it on. No sales. No special offers. These rides aren’t for everyone, but if you’re the right kind of person, it can remind you what it means to be alive.
All the best, Alex.
