READY TO RIDE
CHAPTER SIXTY-TWO
Welcome to chapter sixty-two of our ‘Ready To Ride’ short stories series.
These are five quick snapshots of what we do, where we ride, the laughs had, and the general shenanigans and goings-on, while riding together over the Himalayas & through South India.
I’m posting these every Friday, and they’re an easy read; a few minutes are all you need.
Enjoy!

There’s a whole world out there…
With so much content showing places you may never have been before, it’s easy to think that every corner of the world has already been explored and that nothing could surprise you.
That might feel true until you reach somewhere like Spiti Valley.
It’s easy to understand why it’s been used so often in film production; it’s unlike anywhere else on Earth.
So much so, it almost feels as if you’ve landed on another planet. Riding along cliff edges, beside lunar-like rock formations you’d never imagined possible, and winding through the vast valley is a genuine “pinch me” moment.
You realise that while the world might seem small on a screen, it’s still an enormous place.
We can show you the most incredible photos in the world of Spiti Valley, and you can watch endless videos of others riding it, but it’s nothing like being there.

Sometimes you’ve got to take one for the team…
Ego is a strange thing. It can take over every sense of our being.
Controlling our mindset is everything. But sometimes you’ve just got to hold your hands up and accept the consequences – especially when you’ve been handed a T-shirt to prove it!
If you’ve got the right mindset for the motorcycle adventure of a lifetime, join us.

“India’s Grand Canyon – it is all part of the adventure, and South India is fantastic.
In short, the Nomadic Knights team are fabulous.
My mind, heart and soul are better for knowing them.
From my first swim in the Arabian Sea and meeting up with the other riders, I knew this was going to be a great trip. The ride took us through so many different terrains. The dry heat of the coast, the shady coolness of the jungle, the wildlife of the Western Ghats, the open landscapes and colours of agriculture as we continued east.
The calm stillness of sunrise at the Grand Canyon to the busy energy of the Murdeshwar market.
Riding a Bullet in India is life-changing for the better.
The support and organisation of the team is well-oiled and professional, leaving you able to focus on the riding.
I thoroughly enjoyed the challenges of the ride, some days more eventful than others, and loved every minute.
Live Life. Love Adventure” – Bec.
Bec’s right. Riding a Royal Enfield Bullet is life-changing for the better, even more so now we’ve fitted new touring seats to them all. It’s transformed the ride into a whole new experience.
If you thought you knew the Bullet experience, think again.
It’s just levelled up.

Greg,
Without a doubt, you’ll be having the biking experience of a lifetime.
This is my 21st year of adventure riding in India, and the Roof Of India is my very own idea and creation.
I’ve been perfecting it for 10 years, and this is the best it gets when you ride the Himalayas.
I’ll meet you when you arrive, ride every km with you, share a few beers and stories around the campfire and see you off at the end.
Roll on June 2026.

Mountains and motorcycles: the big reset…
Yes, these rides are a bucket-list adventure for many, but they’re so much more than that. We lead busy and sometimes chaotic lives, and every now and then we need to do something for ourselves that gives us a real reset – and nothing will reset you quite like a motorcycle adventure in the Himalayas.
The towering snow-capped mountains, the cliff-hanging trails, and the feeling of freedom.
Just you, the hum of the motorcycle and the opportunity to truly face yourself.
Many riders leave feeling better in themselves, as though a weight has been lifted.
We understand why, the same thing happens to us every time.
For each person, it’s different, and in a way almost indescribable, but the one thing we all have in common is that these adventures help push that reset button.
Let’s face it, there are worse ways to reset, right?
Enjoy the ride.
I’ll see you on the next one.
JOIN THE
KNIGHT CLUB
So you’re considering taking on a real adventure? I remember the feeling. In 2006, I was sat right where you are now… wondering if it was for me.
Join our mailing list – The Knight Club – and I’ll send my no-BS thoughts on why you should (or shouldn’t) take it on. No sales. No special offers. These rides aren’t for everyone, but if you’re the right kind of person, it can remind you what it means to be alive.
All the best, Alex.
