READY TO RIDE
CHAPTER SIXTY-FOUR
Welcome to chapter sixty-four of our ‘Ready To Ride’ short stories series.
These are five quick snapshots of what we do, where we ride, the laughs had, and the general shenanigans and goings-on while riding together over the Himalayas & through South India.
I’m posting these every Friday, and they’re an easy read; a few minutes are all you need.
Enjoy!

“My experience with Nomadic Knights was simply outstanding.
I got to see and experience an incredible part of India.
It was fascinating to travel the land of fables, ancient stories, mystics, and mystery. As if that wasn’t all, the immense vastness, the breathtaking beauty, and the raw power of the Himalayas are forever seared into my memory.
What a treat!
Nomadic Knights provided exceptional planning, an immaculately serviced fleet of motorcycles, and an outstanding team. Thanks to all of that, I was able to focus on the camaraderie on the trail and the adventure of a lifetime. The riding was challenging, and the local driving customs are not for the faint of heart, and neither are the roads nor trails we travelled.
On the other hand, I took comfort in knowing that your experienced team was always available when needed.
Many engaging conversations around the campfire, or over dinner, a bucket full of cold beers at the end of a day’s ride, and loads of laughter, perfected the experience.
Many thanks to you and your team!” – Ralph, July ’25.
Ralph gets it.
When you’ve invested in a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, you want to know you’re in safe hands. From the motorcycle and the route to the places we travel to.
We’ve been doing this for a very long time, with our own routes, our own fleet of motorcycles and a fantastic team of mechanics, so you can enjoy the ride with confidence.

Can you imagine waking up at Everest Base Camp?
It’s something many have dreamt of, but only a few have achieved – and only a select handful have done it as part of a motorcycle adventure.
Despite the chilly start, it doesn’t register as much as you’d think.
The majesty of the mountain consumes your attention, almost putting you into a trance-like state.
You’re almost in disbelief that it’s really there, right in front of you. You find yourself checking over your shoulder just to make sure it’s not a dream.
This isn’t a dream. This is our reality on this adventure.
We watch the sunrise, and as the light hits the peak, so does the realisation that the ride isn’t over yet. There’s still a great stretch of motorcycling ahead.
It’s at this moment that the adrenaline builds and the thirst to get back in the saddle kicks in.
We’re ready to ride.
Are you ready to wake up at Everest Base Camp?

Broken roads often lead to beautiful destinations…
Both on the road and beyond it.
Yes, the road itself can be a challenge.
The loose rock, steep downhills, two-wheelers whizzing past, and the heat pushing us to our limits. We might lose our cool, and we might even begin to panic.
But once we overcome our own minds, we feel a sense of euphoria.
In the literal sense, the short stretch of broken road we ride through the Kali Tiger Reserve on day four of our Grand Canyon India adventure leads us across a narrow suspension bridge to one of the most beautiful places in South India.
Yes, the broken road is challenging, but the reward – both personally and in the stunning places we physically reach – is well worth the effort.

Our June 2026 Roof Of India ride has just sold out…
The good news: limited spaces are available for July and August, and to top it off, we’ve also added dates for 2027 & 2028.
Now, there’s no hard sell at Nomadic Knights, because there’s no need.
The simple and practical truth is that these rides are popular – and they often sell out suddenly when groups of friends book together.
So if the idea of a motorcycle adventure in the Indian Himalayas excites you, don’t wait too long.
Spaces fill up fast, and we operate strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.

People make places…
There’s no denying that the destinations we reach on these adventures are absolutely breathtaking.
They’re the kind of places many have dreamt of, and only a few have managed to turn into reality. But, as with many things in life, it’s the people who make these places all the more memorable.
The laughter, the stories, the challenges and the journey we share together are what truly stay with us.
You see a bond forming on these rides that can’t be found anywhere else.
Many riders have become friends and returned on trips together, ready to make more memories. Ready to get stuck in and tackle the ride together.
That’s when we know the right people have found our rides – when you see camaraderie like this.
It’s a breath of fresh air.
Enjoy the ride.
I’ll see you on the next one.

KNIGHT CLUB
So you’re considering taking on a real adventure? I remember the feeling. In 2006, I was sat right where you are now… wondering if it was for me.
Join our mailing list – The Knight Club – and I’ll send my no-BS thoughts on why you should (or shouldn’t) take it on. No sales. No special offers. These rides aren’t for everyone, but if you’re the right kind of person, it can remind you what it means to be alive.
All the best, Alex.
