READY TO RIDE
CHAPTER SIXTY-EIGHT
Welcome to chapter sixty-eight of our ‘Ready To Ride’ short stories series.
These are five quick snapshots of what we do, where we ride, the laughs had, and the general shenanigans and goings-on while riding together over the Himalayas & through South India.
I’m posting these every Friday, and they’re an easy read; a few minutes are all you need.
Enjoy!

Who are you rushing for?
So many of us are in a rush, but who for?
Yes, there are things to tick off the to-do list.
Places to be.
Arrangements to keep.
But are you putting the same energy into ticking things off your bucket list?
Chances are, probably not.
In the busyness of life, don’t forget to make time for yourself in the same way you do for everyone else.
Slow down, reflect, and choose what truly matters.
Live with no regrets.

Great to see our riders having each other’s backs no matter what the situation is.
We told you our riders get close!
This was at the incredible Paradise Isle Beach Resort in Udupi, South India, which was – you guessed it – right on the beach.

“It was well organised, well run, and the team are brilliant.
I can’t really fault anything other than the perpetual chasing of a good cup of coffee. The luxury of the spare time in Leh and the chance to go out and shop a little in the evening was really great.
I enjoyed meeting the local people and experiencing the culture.
I really loved the camping evenings, and it was so cool of you to cook that one night.
I never said thanks to you personally for that.
Thank You.
As a total Off-Road novice, it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. But damn well the most rewarding, exhilarating and challenging 2 weeks I’ve ever spent on a motorcycle. It’s something that I’m so glad I managed to finish, and believe it or not, I’m almost ready to head back out and do it all again.
I’m coming back to ride with you and the team again. 100%
Next up, I’m booking The Rode To Everest ride.
I’ll see you there in 2027″ – Rob, June’25.

Does it really have to be once in a lifetime?
We’re often told that adventures like these are rare, extraordinary, and unlikely to be repeated, which can be true.
But if you could do it more than once… why wouldn’t you?
Those who’ve been to Everest Base Camp will know it’s special. And many riders who return on this adventure tell us it feels like seeing it with fresh eyes and a new appreciation for the landscape, the culture and the journey.
But it’s not just about what we see.
It’s about what these rides do for us.
Not many experiences truly test us the way a great adventure can.
They pull us out of routine, strip life back to what matters, and give us the reset we didn’t realise we needed, far away from the noise of day-to-day life.
Some moments are too powerful to experience just once.
After all, anything worth doing is worth doing twice.

The time of year for traditions…
This season, we find ourselves returning to our long-standing family traditions, or perhaps even creating new ones.
The right traditions can feel like an anchor of comfort, offering nostalgia and prompting us to recall moments shared years before.
When you visit somewhere as culturally rich as India, you’ll see that traditions aren’t seasonal – they’re part of everyday life.
A big part of this is chai.
Chai is a sweet tea made with condensed milk and spiced with cinnamon, cardamom, and many other spices, making it one of the most comforting drinks we’ve ever tasted – even in the heat!
No matter where you go, each chai will taste different, with family recipes passed down through generations.
If there’s one tradition you should embrace when visiting India, it’s drinking chai. It’s so good it might even become a new tradition for you.
Enjoy the ride.
I’ll see you on the next one.
JOIN THE
KNIGHT CLUB
So you’re considering taking on a real adventure? I remember the feeling. In 2006, I was sat right where you are now… wondering if it was for me.
Join our mailing list – The Knight Club – and I’ll send my no-BS thoughts on why you should (or shouldn’t) take it on. No sales. No special offers. These rides aren’t for everyone, but if you’re the right kind of person, it can remind you what it means to be alive.
All the best, Alex.
