READY TO RIDE
CHAPTER SIX
Welcome to chapter six of our ‘Ready To Ride’ short stories series.
These are five quick snapshots of what we do, where we ride, the laughs had, and the general shenanigans and goings on, while riding together over the Himalayas & through South India.
I’m posting these every Friday and they’re an easy read, a few minutes are all you need.
Enjoy!

Look closely…
If you’ve explored the Himalayas before, you might have noticed these small caves carved into the mountains.
These are where monks retreat for deep meditation, solitude, and spiritual awakening.
This is an ancient tradition where they seek remote sanctuaries to detach from the world and its distractions, endure physical hardships, and reach a higher states of consciousness.
We haven’t tried it ourselves, would you?

Tomorrow’s the day!
Our riders have been arriving all throughout the week ready for the big day tomorrow – day 1 of the Grand Canyon India ride!
Out of our adventures, it’s the one most like a holiday.
Mainly due to the beaches, the roads and the altitude not being as extreme as the Himalayas.
That being said, it’s still very much a challenge.
The temperatures, the chaotic roads of India – to name just a few. We’ll be starting off with a warm up over the weekend to ease ourselves in.
The fun is about to begin!

Anything’s possible if you’ve got enough nerve…
Throughout life we’re faced with situations that test us.
They test our courage and our ability to press on – no matter what we’re faced with. It’s easy to throw in the towel and dismiss our abilities in these moments, but do we really need to?
Sometimes we need to dig deep, keep our nerve and bite the bullet.
We see this many a time during the Roof Of India ride.
Many of these roads are carved directly from the mountains, clinging to the sides of vertical cliffs. It’s as exhilarating as it looks, but it takes nerve. We see riders challenging themselves and tackling these trails head on.
We see the rush of euphoria and adrenaline as riders conquer the cliff edges and make memories that last a lifetime.
So, do you have the nerve?

“The Rode To Everest ride was an absolute blast.
Conquering challenging terrains, riding alongside great people, and taking in the utterly breathtaking views made it an unforgettable motorcycle adventure.
Whatever it takes to do this ride, ‘Just Do It’ as they say.
You won’t regret it.” – Adam.
Adam gets it.
We get it.
We know what these trips mean to people. Ticking something off from the bucket list and pushing yourself to extremes.
It’s a ride that tests you as well as giving you an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. This is something people didn’t think possible.
Let alone on a motorcycle.

That’s one way of doing it…
Every now and then we become too comfortable; constantly connected to WiFi, travelling with ease and having all the hot water we need, right on tap.
But it wasn’t always this way.
We used to think on our feet, making do with what we had. This allowed us to advance in so many ways, but it comes with the risk of becoming too complacent. After all, they say use it – or lose it.
Adventures like this are a great reminder of ingenuity.
The people who live in the places we visit have and are adapting constantly based on what’s available.
No hot water but plenty of sunshine?
No problem.
Don’t be afraid of being uncomfortable, you never know what you might think of next.
Enjoy the ride.
I’ll see you on the next one.
