READY TO RIDE
CHAPTER SEVEN
Welcome to chapter seven of our ‘Ready To Ride’ short stories series.
These are five quick snapshots of what we do, where we ride, the laughs had, and the general shenanigans and goings on, while riding together over the Himalayas & through South India.
I’m posting these every Friday and they’re an easy read, a few minutes are all you need.
Enjoy!

Founder & Lead Rider

It’s not just about the riding..
We’re nearly a week into our Grand Canyon India adventure already.
Not only have we been cruising down incredible roads, we’ve also been stopping to refuel ourselves with some amazing food & drink – which are a welcome relief, especially in the +30°C heat.
From roadside snacks to fresh cane sugar juice, coconut water, pineapple, and delicious cups of chai to keep us ready for the roads ahead.
These stops serve as a great reminder of not only how hungry or thirsty we might be – but also how bountiful India is.
Being able to enjoy fresh produce at the roadside is often hard to come by – not here!

How many of you have kept up those New Year’s resolutions?
We’re already a week into February, and with January now feeling like a distant memory, it’s safe to say some of those resolutions may have started to fade too.
I get it. It’s easy to get lost in the day to day. We put things off only to get to the end of the year where we’re left questioning if those goals or dreams will ever become a reality.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
We can say yes to taking up that hobby we’ve always wanted to try. Visit the places we’ve always wanted to see. Live the adventures you’ve always dreamt of.
After all the saying goes; “don’t count the days, make the days count.”

New fleet addition?
Pretty sure it won’t add too much time to the journey…

The return of the t-shirts…
If you’ve ridden with me before, you’re probably familiar with these t-shirts.
You might’ve even been lucky enough to receive one yourself – I’ll mention no names! After a brief hiatus, it was definitely time for them to make a comeback on this trip. It’s not a daily ritual, but more of a special shout out to anyone who’s embodied the Nomadic Knights adventurer spirit, had an interesting (and non-harmful) off and, well….I think the last t-shirt pretty much speaks for itself!
So far, the recipients have taken it in their stride.
As with any adventure, it’s important to laugh in the face of adversity and remember that we’re here to have fun, even when things get challenging!

The joy of experiencing things for yourself…
Mount Everest was discovered in 1852 by Indian mathematician and surveyor Radhanath Sikdar.
Since then we can assume that nearly everything possible has been said, filmed or written about this majestic mountain.
But the one thing that remains absolutely unique is your own personal experience.
It’s an irreplaceable moment and emits an incredible sense of joy when you see it for the first time, with your own eyes.
I guarantee you 100% that you’ll remember that moment as long as you live.
Enjoy the ride.
I’ll see you on the next one.
JOIN THE
KNIGHT CLUB
So you’re considering taking on a real adventure? I remember the feeling. In 2006, I was sat right where you are now… wondering if it was for me.
Join our mailing list – The Knight Club – and I’ll send my no-BS thoughts on why you should (or shouldn’t) take it on. No sales. No special offers. These rides aren’t for everyone, but if you’re the right kind of person, it can remind you what it means to be alive.
All the best, Alex.
