READY TO RIDE
CHAPTER FORTY-THREE
Welcome to chapter forty-three of our ‘Ready To Ride’ short stories series.
These are five quick snapshots of what we do, where we ride, the laughs had, and the general shenanigans and goings-on, while riding together over the Himalayas & through South India.
I’m posting these every Friday, and they’re an easy read; a few minutes are all you need.
Enjoy!

There’s nothing quite like starting the day with a lovely cup of chai…
The intense sweetness and warmth from the cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, star anise, and cloves make it the perfect energy boost before a long day of riding.
These recipes have been passed down many generations, and with every sip, you can taste the time and care that’s gone into each brew.
Try it for yourself and join us for an adventure in the stunning South of India on our Grand Canyon India ride.

What do you enjoy about the nomadic life?
For us, it’s the freedom of having everything you need on your motorcycle, the ability to arrive at a destination, unpack your things, and rest your head for the night before setting off on another adventure.
Each day, the road stretches out ahead with new places to explore.
It’s a simple but invigorating joy – made easier with a support truck!
Living this way, you quickly realise how many possessions we don’t truly need, how vast the world really is, and how small our problems are in comparison.

Motorcycles bring people together…
There have been many misconceptions about motorcyclists over the years –
Unapproachable, intimidating, even dangerous.
But wherever you go, you’ll almost always ride past another biker who’ll give you a nod or a wave. If you’re parked up, another rider might strike up a conversation, and you’ll swap stories.
The truth is, we’re a friendly bunch, and motorcycles are social machines that connect strangers from all walks of life.
The same can be said for our rides.
They bring people together in every sense.
From CEOs to barbers, bankers to mechanics. But none of that matters.
We’re all here for similar reasons.
To escape, unplug, and connect with something bigger than ourselves.

The sweet spot…
Sweeping down the mountain, the road winding into the valley, the motorcycle eases into the bends as you move in perfect harmony with the machine.
The wind rushes past, sunlight beams through the canopy – it’s that balance, that perfect flow between rider, motorcycle, and road: the sweet spot.
And what better way to start the year than chasing that same feeling in the South of India – finding your own balance, your own flow, and carrying it into everything that lies ahead.

Is getting high really a bad thing?
We don’t think so, especially when you’re riding at heights of 18,000ft in the mind-blowing Indian Himalayas.
Are you ready to get really high?
Enjoy the ride.
I’ll see you on the next one.

KNIGHT CLUB
So you’re considering taking on a real adventure? I remember the feeling. In 2006, I was sat right where you are now… wondering if it was for me.
Join our mailing list – The Knight Club – and I’ll send my no-BS thoughts on why you should (or shouldn’t) take it on. No sales. No special offers. These rides aren’t for everyone, but if you’re the right kind of person, it can remind you what it means to be alive.
All the best, Alex.
