READY TO RIDE
CHAPTER FORTY-FIVE
Welcome to chapter forty-five of our ‘Ready To Ride’ short stories series.
These are five quick snapshots of what we do, where we ride, the laughs had, and the general shenanigans and goings-on, while riding together over the Himalayas & through South India.
I’m posting these every Friday, and they’re an easy read; a few minutes are all you need.
Enjoy!

You can keep the creature comforts…
One of the great things about adventure is that it strips us back to the basic necessities we truly need as humans.
But for many, adventure has become about bringing all the luxuries along – sometimes even creating a mini home on wheels, whether it’s a motorhome or a car packed with everything inside.
And while that’s great for some (no hard feelings at all), we’d rather carry everything we need on our backs and explore on a motorcycle.
You can get to places quicker, with less hassle, and experience the world in a way you never knew was possible.
Not only that – leaving the creature comforts reminds us of what we’re capable of, proves our durability, and shows us we’re not as sensitive as we often think!
Are you ready to test yourself?

What goes on tour stays on tour…
But we might give you a t-shirt as a reminder!

“It’s two weeks of fantastic motorcycling and unwinding from all the worldly stresses.
After day five, I’d lost count. I just knew that each morning would bring yet another challenging adventure.
These motorcycle trips are my personal reset button.
But they’re much more than just motorcycling.
They’re about friendship, letting go, camaraderie, not taking yourself too seriously and most importantly of all, having a proper laugh.
Alex and the Nomadic Knights team have a simple motto.
‘What goes on tour, stays on tour.’
I love these trips.
I’m going to do more…” – Tony.
We couldn’t have put it any better ourselves.

Nurtured by nature…
Sitting at a desk or being inside for too long is the opposite of how we’re meant to live.
It disconnects us from the world that truly helps shape us.
That’s why it’s so important to leave behind the artificial and fully immerse yourself in the natural world. Nature teaches us, grounds us, and helps us achieve moments we didn’t think were possible.
Whether it’s the terrain, rough weather, or pushing ourselves out of our comfort zone, we’re constantly tested when we step into nature and face the challenges of the wild.
It’s in these moments that we’re reminded of who we really are and what we’re capable of.
And if there’s one place of extremes that will certainly test you, it’s the Indian Himalayas.

Expect the unexpected…
You never know what’s going to happen when you pull up at a fuel station in Tibet.
We might have to fill up with watering cans, we might be able to ride the motorcycles up to the pump, or we might have to walk them in.
It changes all the time.
So forget what you do at home and be prepared to go with the flow.
Enjoy the ride.
I’ll see you on the next one.
JOIN THE
KNIGHT CLUB
So you’re considering taking on a real adventure? I remember the feeling. In 2006, I was sat right where you are now… wondering if it was for me.
Join our mailing list – The Knight Club – and I’ll send my no-BS thoughts on why you should (or shouldn’t) take it on. No sales. No special offers. These rides aren’t for everyone, but if you’re the right kind of person, it can remind you what it means to be alive.
All the best, Alex.
