READY TO RIDE
CHAPTER FIFTY-SEVEN
Welcome to chapter fifty-seven of our ‘Ready To Ride’ short stories series.
These are five quick snapshots of what we do, where we ride, the laughs had, and the general shenanigans and goings-on, while riding together over the Himalayas & through South India.
I’m posting these every Friday, and they’re an easy read; a few minutes are all you need.
Enjoy!

Trick or Treat…
There can be some truly frightening things that come knocking on our doors at times.
Some things we can see coming, while others appear without warning. It can be scary to face what’s behind the door, but the sooner we bite the bullet, the better our lives become.
Motorcycle adventure often presents us with both the predictable and the unexpected, and it’s how we choose to deal with each situation that truly matters.
Whether we meet difficulties with fear or with courage can make all the difference.
Overcome the fear and join us in the most incredible mountain ranges on Earth – the Indian Himalayas.

“Life is either a great adventure or nothing.” – Helen Keller.
It’s hard to believe that some don’t see life as a great adventure.
Every twist and every turn – it’s all part of the journey; we’ve just got to make it worth it.
Like any real adventure, it’s not about the destination – it’s about filling the days with the stories, challenges, and mates you share them with.
At the end of the day, life’s too short to sit still.

“I was tasked with finding the best tour in the Himalayas for our 3-man annual Jolly Boys Biking Week.
It had to be epic.
It had to be the best bike trip we’d ever done, because it really was a once-in-a-lifetime thing. A real, ‘if we don’t do it now, we may never get the chance again’.
It had to mirror our passion for finding our own way, for a true adventure with challenges, unknowns, laughs, beers, and a lifetime’s worth of memories of riding epic roads and trails and sharing new experiences….
…The awe-inspiring views that give a million photo opportunities, if only you could bear to stop riding for a second. The experience of different cultures, foods, languages and people. The swiftly changing weather, roads and trails, and even the unexpected change of plans and dramas that pushing yourself out of your comfort zone inevitably brings when you take on the unknown.
The warm glow of sharing the personal moments and the highs and lows over a beer or four with the laughter and camaraderie of great people, every night.
An organised tour? Surely not!
Alex and the Nomadic Knights team have really got this sussed.
Our expectations were high for the Roof Of India trip; they were surpassed, and then some. Who you choose to go with will make a massive difference. We three, and our new riding buddies on the trip, chose well.
I firmly believe we couldn’t have made a better decision in who to trust to deliver the back-up, guidance, assistance, freedom and laughs we had.
It was awesome, every single day.
Just Awesome!” – Tony.
Tony gets it. Always good to hear when expectations are surpassed – especially when we set a high standard for ourselves. We’ve spent a long time refining what we do and making it the best experience possible, and it’s great to know our riders see that too.

What are you waiting for?

But what if…
Three little words that can be so detrimental.
They often feed our fears instead of our courage, making us focus on what could go wrong rather than what could go right. It’s a phrase that has a lot to answer for, holding far too many people back from the experiences that could have changed everything.
What we should really be asking ourselves is:
What if it does work out?
When it comes to adventure, we need to keep a positive mindset because there will always be challenges, but how we deal with them makes all the difference. Choosing solutions over problems allows us to grow and move forward.
Don’t let the “but what ifs” stop you from living your life to the fullest.
If you’re tired of the “what ifs” and ready for the ride of your life, join us on a motorcycle adventure to one of the most legendary places on Earth – Everest Base Camp.
Enjoy the ride.
I’ll see you on the next one.
