READY TO RIDE
CHAPTER FIFTY-FOUR
Welcome to chapter fifty-four of our ‘Ready To Ride’ short stories series.
These are five quick snapshots of what we do, where we ride, the laughs had, and the general shenanigans and goings-on, while riding together over the Himalayas & through South India.
I’m posting these every Friday, and they’re an easy read; a few minutes are all you need.
Enjoy!

Think all Indian food is spicy?
Think again…
India is massive, and its cuisine is just as diverse as its landscapes.
Every region tells a story through its spices and ingredients, and most dishes aren’t fiery at all.
This is soul food.
Experiencing recipes passed down through generations is a true privilege.
When we’re camping deep in the Himalayas, we huddle around the campfire and watch the effort that goes into preparing our evening meal. The smells from the food and the fire ignite something primal within us.
So much so that you forget any concerns about it being too spicy – you just want to eat!
If camping in the Indian Himalayas after a long day of motorcycle riding is your kind of adventure, join us on our Roof Of India ride.

Do you ever get bored of seeing Everest?
In a word – no.
It’s not just about seeing Everest in all her majesty.
Reaching landmarks like this is a reminder of the journey, what we accomplished to get here, and the relief of knowing we made it.
Each time is an opportunity to reflect and take a moment to revel in that sense of achievement.
But it’s also a reminder that the journey isn’t over.
It’s no time to become complacent.
There’s still plenty of road ahead.
Could you ever get bored of seeing Everest?

Don’t be a…
Kuntadi is a small village in Beltangadi Taluk, in the state of Karnataka, which we ride through on our Grand Canyon India adventure.
One of the great joys of journeys like this is discovering places you never knew existed, with names you never thought possible.
It’s a great reminder that India will never cease to surprise even the most well-travelled among us.

“Nothing can prepare you for the impact of this extreme motorcycle adventure.
You’ll need a strong constitution and a well-rounded, positive attitude if you’re to enjoy it.
A sense of humour is also essential.
Alex and his team,…. well, not really. They feel like one big family, and everyone’s welcome.
I think they’re the best.
We experienced every sensual overload. Sounds, smells, feelings, tastes and sights that throw your mind and imagination into overdrive. The new and lasting friendships you’ll make on this adventure will help you through anything and everything.
Readjusting when getting home is tough.
You have to come down from a massive high and adjust your senses to normal life, if there can be such a thing after this.
Will I be booking another ride?
Hell yes!”
Andy’s right! A sense of humour is a must on these rides.
The road can be long and hard work, and being able to have a laugh during these moments is what keeps us all going.
Be more Andy and join our way of life in the most incredible mountain ranges on Earth – the Indian Himalayas.

Happy Diwali!
Diwali is a time to celebrate light over darkness, new beginnings, and the triumph of good over challenges.
It’s a reminder to embrace life fully, just like we do in adventure – taking on new paths, facing obstacles, and discovering what we’re truly capable of.
Light your own way, seek the unknown, and celebrate every journey along the road.
Enjoy the ride.
I’ll see you on the next one.
