Nepal has the world’s densest concentration of World Heritage sites. With eight out of ten of the world’s highest mountains – including Everest – it is known as a paradise for mountaineers.
But that’s not all it is. Nepal is a paradise for motorcycle adventurers too.
At Nomadic Knights, we offer extraordinary motorbike tours across Nepal and the Himalayas. Despite being landlocked by India and China, this mountainous republic has retained its unique history and culture. And a motorbike is the perfect way to experience it.
Nomadic Knights have been leading motorcycle tours in Nepal since 2012. Our rides are unique experiences, backed up by the best motorcycles and the best support.

THE HIGHLIGHTS
Our Rode to Everest motorcycle tour begins and ends in Nepal. Whether you are riding towards Everest or snaking through the legendary city of Kathmandu, you’ll be amazed, inspired and challenged. The highlights include:
The Landscape
Nepal has history, culture and architecture… but there’s no denying the main draw for the motorcycle adventurer. You’ll ride alongside glittering azure coloured lakes, over high mountain passes and beneath vast, snow-capped peaks. Nothing comes close.
Kathmandu
Known as the City of Temples, you’ll find much to see and do in Kathmandu. Choose wisely. This fascinating (and occasionally infuriating) city has enough sights to keep you busy for a week.
There are hidden temples overflowing with marigolds, courtyards full of drying chillies, and tiny hobbit-sized workshops. Take a stroll through the backstreets and you’ll find the city’s cultural heritage spilling out before you.
Langtang National Park
Part of the Sacred Himalayan Landscape, Langtang National Park lies north of Kathmandu on the border with Tibet.
On our Rode to Everest motorcycle tour, we spend a night here in the dense jungle.

ABOUT US
Hey there. I’m Alex, founder and lead rider at Nomadic Knights. I’ve been riding through Nepal since 2008. Nomadic Knights is my business and my passion. That’s why we can offer:
- The best routes – ‘tuned’ and perfected for over a decade.
- The best motorcycles – from the iconic brand, Royal Enfield.
- The best team – mechanics, safety and support.
Make no mistake. These are not holidays. Riding across Nepal has its challenges, but the rewards more than make up for them.
Read my story or check out our motorcycle adventure, Rode to Everest.
THE BEST TEAM
Like any great adventure, riding through Nepal requires preparation and support.
I lead every ride, but I’m shadowed up by a team of mechanics, medics and local contacts. These are experienced experts who are there to support us day and night.
Of course, we can never tell quite what’s going to happen – that’s half the fun. But trust me, we’ve been around long enough to have seen just about everything.
See the Rode to Everest page to find out more.
THE BEST MOTORBIKES
Our fleet includes the iconic Himalayan or Bullet Trial Works Replica from Royal Enfield.
We replace our fleet every two years, and fully service each motorcycle before every ride. (I’m a mechanic, so nothing gets by me.)
We want you to be able to enjoy your ride.
We fit soft panniers, luggage racks, tank bags, USB chargers, hand guards and so on as standard. The motorcycles are ready to ride, but if you need something adjusted our mechanics are always on hand. It’s no problem.

“my smile says it all”
I still struggle to describe the trip to those who ask me about it and am reminded of the wisdom of Wally Herbert (the first man to cross the Arctic Ocean) who once said: “Those who need to ask will never understand the answer, while others who feel the answer will never need to ask.” Although to those who do ask me about it, I suspect my smile says it all.

“hugely rewarding trip”
It was a challenging but hugely rewarding trip. The memories of the trusty old motorcycle, the fantastic people I was riding alongside, the breathtaking scenery and of rounding a blind bend on a mountain pass and coming face to face with sleeping cow will stay with me for a long time and inspire many more adventures!

“a vivid and life enhancing experience without a doubt”
Up here in the mountains you feel totally free, your mind needs to concentrate so much on staying alive, that it makes you feel alive, a vivid and life enhancing experience without a doubt. It was tough, it was magical, it was a real adventure. I salute you, my fellow adventurers, the times we shared can never to be taken away or forgotten.

Our Roof of India adventure takes you on a challenging but breath-taking ride in the Himalayas, exploring high altitude deserts and forest trails, tackling the “Cliffhanger” and visiting ancient Indian cities.

NEPAL AND TIBET
Alongside our India tours, we offer motorbike tours in Nepal and Tibet, taking you to the highest mountain in the world. The Rode to Everest adventure begins in Kathmandu (capital city of Nepal), goes through the mystical land of Tibet, and ends with stunning views of Mount Everest from Base Camp.

So you’re considering taking on a real adventure? I remember the feeling. In 2006, I was sat right where you are now… wondering if it was for me.
Join our mailing list – The Knight Club – and I’ll send my no-BS thoughts on why you should (or shouldn’t) take it on. No sales. No special offers. These rides aren’t for everyone, but if you’re the right kind of person, it can remind you what it means to be alive.
All the best, Alex.
