Are you ready to ride the world’s highest roads?
The Himalayan mountain range – spreading across Nepal, India, Bhutan, China and Pakistan – has been called The Roof of the World.
Looking for real adventure? Our motorcycle tours of the Himalayas will challenge you to bring your best self, then reward you with soaring heights, jagged peaks and breath-taking river gorges.
You’ll ride on a Royal Enfield Himalayan, designed and built to handle the rough roads and terrain we travel on. It’s the ride of a lifetime because that’s what we do.
Nomadic Knights have been leading motorcycle tours in India since 2012. Our rides are unique experiences, backed up by the best motorcycles and the best support.

THE HIGHLIGHTS
I’ve been riding the Himalayas for years, and the regular routes were beginning to feel crowded and commercial. That wasn’t what I wanted for either of us, so a new route was required. Our solution was something really special – The Roof of India. It is by far the most comprehensive and exciting motorcycle ride you can have in the Himalayas.
The highlights include:
Rothang Pass
A stunningly beautiful ride up into the snow-capped mountains that tower over the Kullu Valley. This is the incredible Rothang Pass which translated means “Bed of Corpses”.
Chenab River
Unique among motorcycle adventure tours, we spend three days riding a remote route alongside the Chenab river. This IS adventure as our only stopping points will be self-made tented camps high in the mountains. Here, your tent is your only luxury.
Srinagar
The bustling city of Srinagar is the perfect place to enjoy a hot shower, a cold beer, fabulous food and a soft bed. The accommodation is spectacular as we stay in luxury houseboats on Dal Lake. The Kashmiri people are renowned for their friendliness and warm hospitality.
Leh
This is a land of snow-capped mountains and glacial lakes, and home to some of the world’s highest mountain passes. We spend a rest day here, giving riders time to explore the markets and ancient Leh Palace at their leisure.

ABOUT US
Hey there. I’m Alex, founder and lead rider at Nomadic Knights. Since 2008, I’ve been guiding adventurers through the Himalayas on motorcycles. Nomadic Knights is my business and my passion. That’s why we can offer:
- The best routes – ‘tuned’ and perfected for over a decade.
- The best motorcycles – from the iconic brand, Royal Enfield.
- The best team – mechanics, safety and support.
Make no mistake. These are not holidays. Riding across the Roof of the World has its challenges, but the rewards more than make up for them. Nothing else comes close.
Awesome, life-changing, inspiring, scary, immense, humbling, mind-blowing and challenging. These aren’t my words; these are the words of people like you.
Read my story or check out the Roof of the World.
THE BEST TEAM
I’m very serious about offering the best motorcycle tours in the Himalayas.
I lead every Nomadic Knights ride, but I’m shadowed up by an expert team of mechanics, medics and local contacts. These guys are experienced experts who are there to support us 24/7.
Of course, we can never tell quite what’s going to happen – that’s half the fun. But trust me, we’ve been around long enough to have seen just about everything.
See the Roof of the World page and info pack to find out more.
THE BEST MOTORBIKES
Riding across the Himalayas demands a special motorcycle. Our fleet includes the iconic Himalayan or Bullet Trial Works Replica from Royal Enfield, but our standards don’t stop there. We replace our fleet every two years, and fully service each motorcycle before every ride. (I’m a mechanic, so nothing gets by me.)
That’s not all. We fit soft panniers, luggage racks, tank bags, USB chargers, hand guards and so on as standard. The motorcycles are ready to ride, but if you need something adjusted our mechanics are always on hand. It’s no problem.

“the landscape of the Himalayas holds you, mesmerises you, and terrifies you”
Who would have possibly thought it, the humble Enfield flying amongst the clouds, diving into rivers and crashing over and through the rock strewn terrain and not only surviving but thriving. […] The almost barren, unforgiving landscape of the Himalayas holds you, mesmerises you, and terrifies you only to lead you around the corner and take your breath away. So long live the Enfield, humble, defiant King of the road.
Neil Paterson
“life didn’t get any better than this”
I’ve been at the birth of my children, swam with a pod of wild dolphins in the Atlantic, and skied on days God would have made for himself to enjoy; but along with those best days of my life, now belong those spent traversing the Himalayas. We were blessed with a group of people that after 2 weeks felt more like family than friends, good weather that allowed us to enjoy the journey and the landscape, and the certain knowledge that life didn’t get any better than this.
Norman Scobie
“its overwhelming, it’s life changing and it’s absolutely fantastic”
You meet new people, see how they work and live and make lots of new best friends. You ride roads, go places, do things and see sights that others only dream of. You start an adventure and end up completely changing your life. Riding in the Himalayas once is just not enough, your brain just cannot absorb everything you do, see and experience on just one trip, it’s overwhelming, its life changing, and it’s absolutely fantastic – do it – now!
